…a message from EFHS Booster President, Mike Dufalla:
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I would like to acknowledge and thank the people that contributed to the season.
- The district school board and administration for their support of the marching band program and assistance on various items throughout the year.
- The athletic director and his staff for their support and assistance with the EF Marching Band Classic and Clinic and other facility related concerns.
- The high school maintenance staff that helped with the loading and unloading of the props for competitions and also provided assistance during the Annual EF Marching Band Competition this September, at the home football games, and whenever we needed it.
- The new marching band staff for working with each of their sections and for pulling them all together into a successful marching band unit.
- To all of the band boosters who worked in the concession stand, served as chaperones, built props, repaired equipment, handled the fund raisers, organized and ran the flea market and spaghetti dinner, cared for and altered the uniforms, assisted with the props and pit equipment, planned and executed the 17th Annual Marching Band Classic and Clinic, fed the band students, erected the scaffolding on the practice field, and all of those other things that go along with fielding a competitive marching band.
- Mr. Turpin who was thrown into a sink or swim experience when he joined Elizabeth Forward as the Director of Bands this winter in the midst of indoor season, the musical, Wildwood, the Gatlinburg trip, and preparations for marching band season. Mr. Turpin recruited a new staff and steadily improved the band throughout the season.
- Especially the members of the Elizabeth Forward Marching Band, many of whom were new to the marching band experience. The band work with a new director, a new staff, learned new marching techniques, and ended the season with a bronze in their PIMBA class and only about 2 points shy of making the TOB Championships in Hershey. Well done.
