Thank You !!!! …and upcoming events!!
This past Saturday the Indoor Guard and Percussion held their Sweetheart Spaghetti Dinner at the Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church. I would like to thank all of the Indoor parents, students, and staff, as well as those volunteers from outside the Indoor program, for this successful fund raiser. We raised over $1000 for the Indoor program.
I would especially like to thank Joanne Leshen for volunteering to lead this event and Randy and Sherry Hough for lending their time and their experience. It was a well attended, smooth running operation thanks to the efforts of the parents and the efficient and friendly service provided by the students. I extend my gratitude to all of those who participated. Great work!
Also coming up on our calendar:
- Band Trip to Washington DC – The band will be leaving on Friday, March 11, 2011 to march in the Washington DC Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. The band will return on Sunday evening.
- Elizabeth Forward Indoor Show – Our show is set for March 26, 2011 and we are on track to having close to 50 performance groups attending. We will be discussing this event at our February Booster meeting (Monday, February 28, 2011 in the EF High School band room). Please attend.
- Cruise Ticket Raffle – Ticket sales for our raffle for a 7 or 8 day Carnival Cruise of the winner’s choosing are continuing. There are still plenty of tickets available. They are $10 and the winning ticket will be based on the Sunday, April 3, 2011 7 PM PA daily number drawing. If you need tickets or information, please contact Sherry Hough at 412-491-9839. Please turn in all money, ticket stubs, and unsold tickets Sherry as soon as possible so that we know where we stand in ticket sales. Even if you plan on selling more tickets, please turn in the money and stubs that you have so far. Money, stubs, and unsold tickets must be returned, by the latest, by March 21, 2011.
- Night at the Races – This event will be Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the newly renovated Central Fire Hall in Elizabeth Township. There are still horses looking for sponsors. Sponsorship is a $10 donation and if your horse wins, you will $50 as the owner. Complete information on sponsorship and tickets for the event is available on the website at www.efhsband.com. Please have all forms and reservations returned by March 21, 2011. Once again, please turn in this information as soon as possible, even if you believe that you may be selling additional tickets, so that we know where we stand in horse sponsorships and ticket sales.
- Annual Band Banquet – Our band banquet will be on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Salvatore’s in Baldwin. You will be receiving more detailed information on the event in the mail this month. Be there when we announce the winning number for our cruise raffle. It may be you.
As you can see, we have a very busy next few months coming up. I hope that you will be able to help support and enjoy these events.
